Ethanol
Ethanol is an organic chemical compound, which in turn is the major component of what is known as “Alcohol”. Ethanol is therefore an alcohol, or rather, it is the most representative compound of the alcohols and the one with the greatest commercial and industrial use and opportunities.
When we talk about obtaining ethanol, this is achieved through physical processes of separation of alcoholic mixtures until high purity alcoholic concentrations are obtained. These processes, known as alcoholic distillation, either simple or fractional distillation, have a long history in industrial history. Since obtaining very pure ethanol with residual water concentrations cannot be achieved exclusively through fractional distillation, it is necessary to resort to other methods and processes of separation or physical absorption through molecular sieves.
